This month was my first taking part in the #MUMPALS swap. It’s a fantastic idea thought up by the lovely Holly @lovehollyxox. Every three months, you are given another randomly selected Mummy to buy a gift for (I’ve never done so much stalking on Twitter - in order to find out what my Mummy liked!). Sometimes it will be the Mum we buy for and sometimes it will be the baby/children. You also receive a gift from another Mummy. The concept is great, similar to Secret Santa, for meeting new Mummies in the Twitterverse.
This month, the theme was pamper gifts for the Mummy as it was the month of Mother’s Day. We are given a budget of £20 and it is up to you to source relevant gifts.
My randomly selected Mummy was Charlotte from Simply Lottie. I picked a variety of “pamper” gifts for her, including a mini bottle of wine, face masks, make-up, shower gel, choccies and gin sweeties. I had a fab time sourcing gifts for Charlotte - I absolutely LOVE buying gifts for people, so #MUMPALS is just up my street - I can’t wait for the next swap!
A few days after I sent my package off, one arrived for me from the gorgeous Naomi @opheliasodyssey. As soon as I opened the main packaging I could smell something amazing - Lush products - a bath bomb and bubble bar!
Also in the parcel was a foot nourishing sock pack (wow, my feet have never been so spoilt!), a face mask, argan oil hair mask, hotel chocolat choccies and a make-your-own hot chocolate set. I’m going to feel amazing after some much-needed TLC thanks to these gifts. A big, big thank you to Naomi!
I couldn’t wait to treat myself, so indulged in a bath full of the Lush bubble bar the same evening. Bliss.
In the packages, we also put a personal letter to the person we are gifting. This is such a nice touch, it’s almost like having a pen pal. We can put our social media details on here so that we can follow each other and become mummy blogger friends.
I really appreciated these gifts because they aren’t things I’d normally think of buying for myself, particularly now that I have a little one. It means I’ll now take the time to relax and have a little me time.
