OUR BABY SHOWER

Last weekend we had our baby shower, held at our home in South Wales, which means Baby S' due date is fast approaching. I decided to host my own baby shower as I looooove organising and planning events - and maybe I'm a slight control freak when it comes to things like this.

My sister helped out by planning some games (pics below and baking a fantastic cake, which was gone within two days -- don't blame me, I'm pregnant. My mum bought round a few drinks as well as yummy home-made shortbread (pic above. I had help with making the afternoon-tea style food from one of my close friends (thank you!). We managed to get it all made and cooked within an hour and a half, just before guests started arriving!

We had about 20 people attend the baby shower, consisting of friends and family, and we somehow managed to fit everyone into our home. I know baby showers tend to be all female, however Greg attended the baby shower, as I believe it is as much a celebration to include him as it is me. The baby shower wasn't particularly female-orientated so I don't think there was any reason to leave him out.

The baby shower wasn't a formal event with personalised invitations (unless you count a Facebook invite), napkins or decorations. Those things weren't important to us. There are so many different styles and themes of baby showers which I found out from Pinterest. I could have spent a fortune, but unfortunately money doesn't grow on trees.

We had some gorgeous and thoughtful gifts at the baby shower, which we are extremely thankful and grateful for. I will do a baby shower haul blog in a few weeks on these. I did mention to guests that they didn't need to bring gifts as I just wanted everyone round to celebrate such an exciting time.

I want to say a huge thank you again to everyone who made it to our baby shower. Now to look forward to Baby S coming into our lives!
